First, I have to disagree that Blackfield are better than Porcupine Tree. Every person in Porcupine Tree is better musically than their Blackfield counterparts.
Second, Daniel Salomon played keys for Blackfield on both albums but left in 2007.
Good review otherwise.

The name of the guy playing the keyboard is Eran Mittelman, not Daniel Salomon. Daniel Salomon is the keyboard player of Aviv Geffen, not Blackfield. You should change it, but we loved your blog and you are absolutely right! Post the pics :)

Mike - Great review. I absolutely hate the feeling of jealousy, but it's overwhelming right now. I can only dream that Blackfield will at some point do a proper US tour and hit Cleveland. If not, you may have a visitor next time they visit LA.

I agree Blackfield II is better than I

Im not ready to agree that they are better than PT. Porcupine Tree's discography speaks for itself. Maybe after 7 or 8 Blackfield CD's I will be able to compare the two, but right now, there are just too many great Porcupine Tree songs and albums.

Now if only I could convince you of the brilliance of Rush. Both of these bands just scream Rush to me and I still think, someday you will appreciate the genious of Rush.
